UPPERMILL FC is in the process of developing its senior teams.

STEPPING DOWN: Fourth-team manager and committee member Keith Prior

The first and second teams have had their youngest squads for some time and both have progressed greatly.

Several coaches, including fourth-team manager Keith Prior, are stepping down this season and the club thanks them for their time and dedication to the club.

The second team reached the final of the Manchester League’s Bridgewater Cup. Unfortunately, due to circumstances it was cancelled.

They also came runners-up in division on goal difference losing out to Chadderton EDS.

The third team reached the semi-finals of the Huddersfield League’s Groom Cup.

The all-conquering U17 girls’ team signed off by winning the treble of league, league cup and knockout cup.

Unfortunately, they played their last match when they won the league cup as the players are going to university etc.

The U16s got through to the Tameside League Cup quarter final and the Tameside League Challenge Cup semi-final in a successful season.

The U10 Reds were beaten finalists in the East Manchester Junior Football League Snake Cup.

The U10 Whites won the EMJFL Hail Cup.

There was a double for the U9s as the Blues were winners of the EMJFL Buzzard Cup while the Whites lifted the EMJFL FA Challenge Cup.

And the U7s were runners-up in the EMJFL’s Buzzard Cup.

The club had its seniors’ presentation night last weekend at Greenfield Cricket Club and our juniors’ presentation day is on Sunday, June 10 at the Civic Hall, doors open from 2pm.

Uppermill Football Club is looking for budding young players to join their ranks.

The U12s (year 7 in September) require players for their two teams.
