Children to the rescue as dark days come to Castleshaw

Saddleworth children's book groupGROTT THE evil toad has taken up residence in Castleshaw Reservoir and is killing the wildlife by poisoning the water with his stinky, steaming body…

But help is at hand as members of Saddleworth Children’s Book Group are joining the quest to defeat the croaking creature and save the rest of the animals and fish.

As part of National Share A Story Month, the Book Group will enjoy an adventurous trail around the beautiful Castleshaw Reservoir on Saturday 14 May from 2-4pm.

The event is aimed at children aged 3-11 and is open to both members and non-members. There is a £2 per child charge for non-members but this trail is free for members.

Meet at the reservoir car park on Waterworks Road and please dress suitably for the weather and a walk. There will be a stop half way round for a snack.

The Book Group is linked to the Federation of Children’s Book Groups (FCBG), a national registered charity. Annual membership of the Saddleworth group is £8 for families with one child, £10 for families with two or more children.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer and you can book tickets in advance online at www.facebook.com/saddleworthchildrensbookgroup, or email saddleworthchildrensbookgroup@gmail.com or text 07813 180301.
