A GLITTERING annual Civic Ball saw 132 guests dress up to the nines and dance the night away in Uppermill, raising £865 for local charities.
The Ball is a highlight of the Civic year and was hosted in January at the Civic Hall by Saddleworth Parish Council chairman Cllr Nicola Kirkham in aid of her chosen charities.
Money raised included £150 from the sale of a David Ford signed picture, kindly donated by David’s widow Elaine.
Entertainment was provided by the James Alexander Set Dance Band while a delicious meal was served up by WoolyKnit in Diggle.
And guests enjoyed a unique chance to capture the evening by taking their own pictures in a pop-up photo booth.
Cllr Kirkham said: “The evening was a huge success and enjoyed by all.
“The Civic staff did a fantastic job before and on the night.”
Special guests in attendance included Oldham East and Saddleworth MP Debbie Abrahams, Mayor of Oldham Cllr Shadab Qumer, and Mayors, Mayoresses, chairmen and councillors from nearby Town and Parish Councils.
