TWO COMEDIANS will tread the boards at Off the Rails Comedy on Sunday, May 31 to demonstrate why the transition between stand up and TV presenting is not always a smooth one…

For former TV presenter Nick Page, his forgery conviction alongside his failed marriages result in in the kind of stories most people would want locked in the darkest cupboard.
But Page is a born raconteur with a unique, rapid-fire delivery and audiences quickly empathise with the dilemmas of forging his ex wife’s signature on loans and losing his job on BBC’s ‘Escape To The Country’.
As well as being a Guardian ‘Pick of The Week’, Page has been described as ‘The very best story teller on the comedy circuit’ by fellow comedian Rhod Gilbert.
Also taking to the stage will be John Gordillo, a Perrier Award-nominated comedian who has directed shows by both Eddie Izzard and Reginald D Hunter.
He also made the final short list of two comics being considered by the BBC as a full-time replacement for Angus Deayton as host of ‘Have I Got News For You’.
Gordillo’s brand of intelligent comedy never lets the clever get in the way of the funny and not only will he make you laugh until it hurts but he will leave you with plenty to think about too.
George Ryden is the up and coming act who will be strutting his stuff in the middle while Alun Cochrane is host for the evening.
The show starts at 8pm prompt at the Royal George pub on Manchester Road, Greenfield.
Admission is £9/£5 NUS either on the door or in advance from the venue or online at www.saddleworthcomedy.co.uk
