Comedy Club will have you in stitches

OCTOBER IS set to be a jam-packed and star-studded month for Greenfield’s Off The Rails Comedy Club.

The highlight is a UK tour preview from Chris Ramsey, a South Shields comic who has won legions of fans as the star of BBC’s smash hit sitcom Hebburn.

He will visit the club, which holds its shows at The Royal George, on Wednesday, October 16 – but the show sold out weeks ago so tickets are on a return only basis.

Then Hyde and Denton Marie Curie Cancer Care return to the pub on Saturday, October 19 in what has to be one of the most deserving causes of the year.

Headlining is Dublin’s Caimh McDonnell who has firmly established himself as the white-haired Irishman whose name nobody can pronounce.

Caimh is also in great demand as a writer for TV and has worked on hit BBC show ‘The SarahMillican Television Programme’ and the Sky sports/comedy panel show ‘A League of Their Own’.

The opener is Stockport’s Mike Newall, who previously worked on building sites and supermarketsbut whose career path changed dramatically after a night out in a comedy club.

And on Sunday, October 27 there is a Saddleworth debut for rising star Imran Yusuf, who ismaking a name for himself as a comedy powerhouse, with television appearances already  including Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and The Edinburgh Comedy Fest.

Fast and furious yet charmingly endearing, his is a unique voice in the comedy world with his stinging, lyrical street-slang verbiage and super-high energy performance.

Another familiar face from our small screens is Birmingham’s Joe Lycett who will be opening the show while Caimh McDonnell returns to compere with one act to be confirmed.

Off The Rails Comedy Club takes place at The Royal George, Greenfield, on the last Sunday of every month with additional fundraising and touring shows throughout the year. Find line ups, prices and booking at www.saddleworthcomedy.co.uk or ring 07874 152 338.
