Community donations ensure villages will shine brighter at future Christmases

LEES, Springhead and Grotton will shine even brighter with festive cheer during future Christmases thanks to community spirit and fundraising.

A sum of £1,502 has been raised for the LSG Business Hub’s ‘Community Christmas Lights’ fundraising campaign to decorate and light up the villages.

More than 900 tickets were sold in their community raffle to raise money, and £585 was pledged on their Go Fund Me page, including a £450 donation from local councillors Alicia Marland, Sam Al-Hamdani and Mark Kenyon.

LSG Business Hub said: “A massive thank you to everyone who donated prizes for our Community Christmas Raffle and everyone who bought tickets.

“All proceeds go towards our Community Christmas Lights throughout the villages. This year we bought the new star motif light at a cost of nearly £2,000.

“Lighting up the villages won’t be cheap but every penny will help and with fundraising, funding and our community spirit we will make sure future Christmases will sparkle.”
