Community favourite Delve up for sale after ‘challenging year’

A much‑loved Saddleworth restaurant has revealed it is preparing to change hands, only weeks after publicly urging diners to stop making last‑minute cancellations and failing to turn up for bookings.

Delve, the popular eatery in Delph, confirmed that the business is now on the market. Despite the announcement, the team says it will continue trading as normal while they search for a new owner, stressing that opening hours, staffing and service will remain unaffected in the meantime.

Delve, Delph

Delve opened in 2024 after the previous venue on the site, The Bank, suddenly closed. Its launch was welcomed locally, bringing the building back into use and helping maintain a vibrant food scene in the area.

Known for its brunch dishes, small plates and Sunday roasts, Delve shared the update on social media, describing the venue as a ready‑to‑run opportunity for someone looking to take on an established hospitality business.

The news prompted an emotional response from regulars, with many expressing hope that the restaurant will continue under new stewardship.

The decision to sell comes shortly after Delve spoke out about the impact of no‑shows, revealing that one weekend alone saw around 50 missed bookings and cancellations.

At the time, the owners said the issue was placing significant strain on the small independent business, leading them to introduce deposits for larger groups.

Anyone interested in taking over the restaurant has been encouraged to contact the owners directly through the details shared on their Facebook page.
