YOUNG WILL Potts made a dream debut for Lancashire under-10’s which came in a Roses cricket match against Yorkshire.
The eight-year-old off-spin bowler from Diggle was also among the wickets claiming two for 22 from five overs in the rain-affected match at Burscough.
Sadly for the St Chads’ pupil play was abandoned with Yorkshire 85 for three.
Will, who began playing cricket at the age of six, has a busy schedule as he also stars for the Oldham under-10’s town team as well as for Uppermill at under- nine and 11 level.
Elder brother Tom also had trials for Lancashire, but failed to make the under-11 side.
Tom also plays for Oldham under-11’s and recently claimed three wickets for 11 runs in a seven-wicket win against Trafford.
Both boys dream of one day becoming professional crickets.
Proud dad Stewart is also a big cricket fan and sponsors the Oldham town teams through his Saddleworth-based company Oldfield Construction.
