A THRIVING cub pack has been introduced to a new challenge towards achieving two coveted activity badges.
Youngsters from 23rd Oldham Greenfield St. Mary’s recently got to grips with the health and leisure pursuit of Nordic Walking.
Led by Caroline Fisher from Nordic Walking Saddleworth, the session allowed the eager-to-try cubs a way to stay healthy as part of their skills challenge badge.
And as this activity took place outdoors it also ticked off part of their adventure challenge badge.
The 23rd group has been running for eight years, made possible by the work of adult volunteers.
But while cub numbers are up group scout leader Emily Wilson is keen to recruit more volunteers.
“In scouting, this volunteering can be as a leader working directly with the Beavers/Cubs/Scouts,” explained Emily. “Or in a support role with the group executive committee.”
