A HIGH FLYING executive with a love for tasty food has had his own unique offering added to the menu of a top roadside inn in Grasscroft.
Dave MacDougall’s twist to the traditional bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich (a BLT) has earned a special place on the new sandwich menu at The Farrars Arms.

And his hearty extra ingredient – a juicy slice of garlic-infused chicken – has gone down a treat with foodies at the inn.
The ‘Dave MacDougall Chicken Bacon Lettuce Tomato sandwich’ appears with his initials – DMCBLT.
Proud Dave, a 38-year-old IT expert, declared: “I often call in for something to eat if I’ve been away or have just finished a long working day.
“I enjoy the traditional BLT but the chicken’s tangy taste really takes things to another level. It’s a real touch of foodie heaven.
“The chicken really compliments the other fillings,” added Dave, who lives in Grasscroft and is former chairman of Saddleworth Round Table.
“It’s started a bit of a rush in the new sandwiches. I’m delighted other customers like my choice.”
Anthony Kinsey, landlord of the Farrars and a well-known local musician, said: “Dave always wanted to add something extra to our existing choice of sandwiches.
“His choice of chicken really sits well the BLT and his initials appearing before it in the menu have certainly created interest with our regulars.”
