DELPH BOXER Andy Kremner still has an unbeaten record as a professional following an impressive points victory against Danny Little at Victoria Warehouse, Manchester.
The 22-year-old super-welterweight made it six straight wins with a 40-36 margin against the Driffield man following an exciting and explosive four-round contest.
Kremner went on to the attack from the opening bell and won all four rounds convincingly in what was the contest of the night with the show televised live on the internet.
“I was not worried about the television cameras – I want to put bums on seats and they were on the edge of their seats for my fight,” he explained.
Kremner was happy with his performance, and even impressed his opponent.
He added: “Danny told me that had the fight been longer, I would have stopped him as I had nearly had him down a few times.
“I caught him with two hooks – one left and one right – that I knew had hurt him.”
Though Little has won only three of his 17 bouts, Kremner explained he was a durable opponent, declaring: “Danny has been in the ring with the best against the likes of Terry Flanagan and Tyrone Nurse.
“It was a good learning fight and there are things I still need to work at as there were times when I was a bit too wild.”
Little was a late change of opponent as Kremner had been due to box Greek-born Taz Apergis in a clash of two unbeaten fighters only for his opponent to pull out through illness.
“It disrupted my preparation as he was a southpaw so my training had been geared to fighting a left hander,” he explained.
Kremner had been hoping that victory against Apergis would have propelled him towards a title fight.
He is having a short break before returning to training at John Murray’s Stockport gym and has February earmarked as a possible date for his next bout.
