Delph seeks young players to continue run of success

DELPH Cricket Club is looking for new U11 players to maintain its run of success.

The U11s celebrate their title win

The U11s won the Huddersfield and District League this summer, but eight players are next year moving up to the U13s.

As a result, the U11s have been left with only six players for next season, hence the appeal for new players so the team does not fold.

Mum Claire Holland, whose son plays for the U11s, has taken on the task of finding new players.

She said: “We have had a brilliant season, losing only one game and four of our players – Isaac Davies, Max Leaver, Braeden O’Donnell and Archie McKimm playing for the Oldham district team.

“It would be a shame if we couldn’t raise a team next year.”

Delph, who don’t run an U9s team, are keen to recruit young players so they can eventually feed them through to the other junior sides.
