DO you have what it takes to pitch your plans to Saddleworth Rotary Club ‘Dragons’ in a bid to win funding for your charity or local community group?
The Rotary Club is once again holding its Dragons Den event, loosely based on the popular television programme, with the aim of finding local worthy causes and projects to support.
Last year saw the Club award eight grants of around £200 to various local recipients including Saddleworth Carers, Delph Youth Group, and Friends of Bright Futures School in Grasscroft.
Now they are inviting more charities or groups to come forward with ideas and projects that need backing and funds.
Jon Stocker, Rotary committee member, said: “You will have the opportunity present your plans to the Club and if approved the funding will be provided on the night.
“So, if you have a local project that needs some cash, and you think your powers of persuasion are good enough, then why not give it a try!
“Rotary’s very own panel of ‘Dragons’ from the local business community will consider the merits of each pitch.
“All those taking part will get to explain their plans to an audience of like-minded people which can also create useful links between organisations in the area.”
υυ The Dragons Den event will be held on the evening of January 24, 2018 at The White Hart, Lydgate.
