The trio chose and installed the planter in the gardens adjacent to Dobcross School Gardens, with the aim of highlighting the entrance to Dobcross Village.

They explained: “We’ve kept it local in buying the planter, all the materials to install it and plants and flowers from Saddleworth companies.”

The planter was unveiled to all the suppliers and Dobcross Village Society, with thanks given for all their help and support.

Suzanne Wright on behalf of Dobcross Village Society would like to thank the suppliers, all local companies, namely Saddleworth Planters (Colin Humphreys),  Ian Cooper (Myers Builders Of Delph), and Angela Kenny (The Old Toll House Garden Centre

The donation of £500 was the first community grant pledged by Dobcross Village Store as they look to support and reinvest in their local area.

The Shady Gardeners also used the funds to buy giant poppies for the Remembrance Garden, as well as spring and summer bulbs.
