GOOD luck to Joanne Caffrey after helping re-open the historic Swan pub in Dobcross.
The famous 18th century hostelry, known locally as the Top House, remained closed despite the easing of lockdown restrictions at the start of July.
However, Joanne, an experienced barmaid who previously worked at the Grove Inn on Rochdale Road in Blackley, was delighted to answer the call from brewers, Marstons.
She served her first socially distanced pints at the village inn this evening.
A spokesperson for Marstons confirmed: “We have appointed a temporary new tenant to reopen the Swan to the local community. The new tenant is Joanne Caffrey.”
The pub is currently only serving drinks but Joanne hopes food will be added in the near future.
The pub was previously run by Mark Paterson and Mike Leighton.
