The ‘Sound and Vision’ event will include unique displays of vintage musical instruments, vinyl, film cameras and the usual assortment of furniture, clothes, books, music, DVDs and bric-a-brac.

The event aims to raise funds to support the community of 24 companions – formerly homeless people who live, work and are supported by Emmaus Mossley.

Maher Edwards, companion at Emmaus Mossley, said: “This event is a celebration of Emmaus Mossley and the sound and music of hope.

“We’re reaching out to the local community to come and celebrate with us and to support other people in need.”

The event is a follow up to other successful evening events held at Emmaus Mossley. Companions, staff and volunteers handpick the best items and create unique displays to show off the best of what Emmaus Mossley has to offer.

Hazel Hodkinson, Shop Manager at Emmaus Mossley, said: “Whether you’re on the hunt for musical instruments, classic LPs or 7” singles, old film cameras or vintage items for the home, our next event will have the lot and much more. Emmaus Mossley will be full of unique displays, themed areas and rummage boxes to inspire and excite.”

At the event, Emmaus Mossley will open their Collectables Room, have displays from the Art Group and Upcycling volunteers, and Lucie’s Café will serve a selection of drinks, cakes and other light bites.

There will also be live music from local band Cabbage, a workshop by The Incredible Plastic Street Band, volunteer Steve on Spanish guitar and Emmaus supporter Nial ‘Biggun’ Burrows providing a beatboxing showcase.

The ‘Sound and Vision’ event will take place on Thursday, 28 July 28 between 6pm to 8pm, at Emmaus Mossley, Longlands Mill, Queen Street, Mossley OL5 9AH.

Emmaus Mossley supports 24 formerly homeless people by providing them with a home and work in a community setting. The charity runs a social enterprise in Mossley, selling donated and upcycled furniture, household goods and vintage wares.
