A POPULAR former village baker has scooped up a delightful double portion of dough… in the Post Code Lottery.

Denise Howell from Delph landed the surprise £50,000 windfall plus a brand new saloon car in the every-growing weekly draw.
Denise, who is working as a temporary office administrator in Manchester, said: “I just couldn’t believe I’d won. I was in a state of shock.
“I never believed anyone wins but to get a prize on each of my tickets was amazing… it really changed my mind forever.
“The Lottery is fantastic and real people win. I’m definitely going to keep on doing it!”
The King Street winners play with the postcode OL3 5DL, which was drawn as the winner of People’s Postcode Lottery’s monthly car and cash prize.
Denise was joined by her daughter Jen when she was presented with her prizes.

“Jen is getting married next year so some of the money will go towards her dress,” she said.
“I would also love to go to Australia again with my husband Peter and go scuba diving!”
The kind-hearted winner treated family and friends from her winnings and donated some money to St Thomas Church.
People’s Postcode Lottery Ambassador Danyl Johnson, who presented Denise with her cheque, said: “I loved meeting Denise, she was so excited to get her cheque and almost passed out with shock when she saw she’d won the car too.”
A minimum of 31 per cent of the ticket price goes to charities. To date, players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised more than £221million for good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
A project which has received player support near the winning Delph postcode is Oldham Mountain Rescue Team, which was awarded £2,285 this year to improve operational computing capabilities.
