THE COLOURS of the rainbow will fill the town for Oldham’s first ‘Colour Blast’ in aid of Dr Kershaw’s this month.
The Hospice and Revolution 96.2 have partnered up to hold the family event at Alexandra Park on Sunday, September 27.
Particiapants can walk, jog, run or skip their way round the 3km course and be blasted with clouds of colour.
Angela Higham, Corporate Fundraiser at Dr Kershaw’s, said: “We are thrilled that Revolution are working with us on this event.
“Other charities have raised tens of thousands of pounds by holding these runs in which runners are doused in brightly-coloured corn flour. It’s non-toxic and safe for all the family, pets and wildlife.
“We hope to raise lots of money and awareness of the hospice and the vital work we do whilst having lots of fun!
“Other hospices around the country have had hundreds of people participate and we expect to see over 1,000 people participating in the event at Alexandra Park.”
Matt Ramsbottom, owner of Revolution 96.2, added: “When we were approached by Dr Kershaw’s to partner them on this event we didn’t hesitate.
“This is exactly the kind of event that our listeners will love and we’re delighted to be helping such a great cause.”

And then on Friday, October 16, Dr Kershaw’s Hospice is hosting their very first Strictly themed dancing evening at Queen Elizabeth Hall, Oldham.
