FILM LOVERS can enjoy a first ever drive-in movie event at the Tesco Extra store in Oldham on Sunday, March 5.
The American-style event is being held by the store on Huddersfield Road to say thank you to customers, and will feature ‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’ on a large screen in the carpark.
In a first for Tesco’s Oldham Extra, customers will be able to enjoy the film from the comfort of their own cars with the sound playing through their car speakers.
Andrew Brown, store manager, said: “We are delighted to be able to confirm the new date for the drive-in cinema and hope our customers can join us for what should be a fantastic evening of entertainment.
“We wanted an opportunity to say thanks to our customers and thought this was something exciting and a little bit different for everyone to enjoy.
“‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’ is such a fun film and we can’t wait to welcome the local community to the store to watch it.
“A trip to the cinema isn’t complete without popcorn and a drink to wash it down with. Luckily colleagues will be handing these out everyone who attends, so visitors only to need to bring themselves, their car and a blanket to keep warm.”
Customers should arrive from 5pm and the event is scheduled to begin at 6pm or once the car park is full.
Entry to the free event will be on a first come, first served basis and so it is recommended to arrive early to avoid disappointment. The film is certified as a 15 and so admission will not be granted to anyone under this age.
The event will be weather permitting and in case of high winds will have to be cancelled.
