A TEAM of two has organised a spread of beers and ciders galore to tickle your taste buds at the Saddleworth Beer Festival on September 20 and 21.
Peter Archer and John Frankell, with the support of Uppermill Conservative Club, will lay on around 30 ales, lagers and ciders from across the country at the charity event at the Uppermill Civic Hall.

Beers, priced £2.50-£2.80, have been selected from breweries far and wide, including Riverhead in Marsden, Boggart in Manchester, Thornbridge in Derbyshire, Millstone in Mossley, Greenfield Brewery, and Harveys in Sussex.
Ciders will be supplied by the Real Cider Company in Cragg Vale, and the normal bar will be open for those who prefer spirits, wine, or soft drinks.
And to store the numerous drinks on offer, Peter has even got hands on in making three beer stillages to go alongside two borrowed from Greenfield Brewery.
As guests enjoy the beverages, they can also tuck into a pie and peas supper, chicken curry with rice, or baked potatoes with various fillings, all at reasonable prices.
Live bands will provide entertainment throughout the two-day event, with rock group Naughty Dog taking to the stage first on Friday.
Friezland Brass Band will perform on Saturday afternoon before blues band Billy Coxon 7, featuring organiser John Frankell, round off the evening, when a raffle will also be drawn.
And after months of preparation, the organising duo hopes the line-up of beers, bands and food will help them outdo last year’s fundraising total of £1,700.
Peter said: “It is a lot of hard work but I am quite confident it will be as successful as last year. I have enjoyed organising it and I hope it is a success on the day.
“People have their favourite beers and we will have those alongside new ones too. I hope everyone just enjoys themselves and helps us raise funds for charity.
“I want to say a heartfelt thank you to all the local businesses that have sponsored us and helped us make this event possible.”
The festival moved to the Civic Hall last year after outgrowing its previous base at the Uppermill Conservative Club, where it was held for two years.
It was previously sponsored by the Saddleworth Round Table, who are still providing volunteers along with the Conservative Club and Parish Council but have less funding available after scrapping the much-loved Beer Walk.
Proceeds raised will go towards club community projects as well as the Royal British Legion and the Saddleworth Parish Council Chairman’s chosen charity Dr Kershaws.
The Saddleworth Beer Festival will run on Friday, September 20 from 6.30pm to midnight and on Saturday, September 21 from 1.30pm to midnight. Entry costs £4 per person on the door or £6 for both days. Families are welcome in the afternoon.
