Events to mark the First World War Centenary: Oldhamers and the First World War

As part of the First World War centenary remembrance events, Oldham Local Studies in partnership with Oldham Libraries is presenting a series of talks across the Borough.

From Belgian refugees finding shelter in Oldham to Failsworth women and children coming together to enjoy each other’s company while sewing and knitting socks gloves and bandages for soldiers on the frontline, the talks tell Oldham’s First World War story.
