FORMER CORONATION Street actress Judy Holt is taking to the stage at The Swan Inn at Dobcross next month in a hit play.
Judy, who plays ‘Scary Mary Jackson’ in ITV’s cop-drama ‘Scott and Bailey’, will perform alongside Samuel Thompson and Ryan Clayton in ‘The Box of Tricks’ on Wednesday, November 25.
The show thrilled audiences at Manchester’s 24:7 Theatre Festival last summer and has been extensively re-written for the tour by co-writers Stephen M Hornby and Ric Brady.
It is an emotional play about the complex relationship between two brothers from Yorkshire and their aunt, and has already been nominated for two awards.

Judy, who played Leslie Kershaw in Coronation Street, said: “I am delighted to be working with Pagelight again on this reworked version of ‘The Box of Tricks’, after the successful run at the 24:7 Festival.
“I am looking forward to the tour and sharing our work in a variety of venues.”
The play received Arts Council funding to tour across seven venues in the North of England this autumn.
Co-writer Ric Brady said: “The 24:7 Theatre Festival was a fantastic opportunity for audiences in Manchester to see our play. We cannot wait to bring the play to other towns and cities.”
