KIRKLEES Light Railway in Clayton West has bid farewell to the fantastic summer of 2018 and is now looking towards an even more fantastic autumn and winter season.
The popular family attraction is open every weekend until the end of November and, in addition, will be open daily from Saturday, October 27 to Sunday, November 4 with free half term horrors storytelling and craft sessions to keep the kids entertained during the school holidays.
Frighteningly good Ghost Trains will be running on the evenings of October 26, 27 and 28 for those who like things that go bump in the night, and Thomas the Tank Engine will be stopping by again on November 10-11 for the final Day Out with Thomas events of 2018.
Keeping with tradition, Santa will once again be making the railway his base for December, spreading festive cheer from his cosy grotto at the North Pole, aka Shelley Station.
Demand for the magical Santa Specials services has been unprecedented this year so people are advised to book sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.
Erin Towey, Marketing Officer at the KLR, said: “Autumn and winter are such exciting seasons for everyone at the railway.
“Not only is the beautiful scenery changing on a daily basis, it’s also the time we get to host some of the most fun, magical and also spooky events in our annual calendar.
“We can’t wait to scare people out of their wits on the Ghost Trains and then change tack completely to deliver a most enchanted Christmas experience.”
Booking is essential for the Ghost Trains, Day Out with Thomas and Santa Specials. Visit www.kirkleeslightrailway.com or call 01484 865727.
