Chris, who is an OMRT member, explained: “After the positive comments I received for my first book ‘Saddleworth Discovery Walks’, I was inspired to write a second one.

“From rugged moorland plateaus to secluded corners of Oldham’s beautiful countryside, readers will discover the town’s rich, hidden past.

“The enjoyable walks not only explore swathes of Oldham’s hidden countryside but also uncovers the history of our town.”

Chris added: “Saddleworth Discovery Walks received great reviews and I received orders from as far away as Australia and South America, from people who have long-standing connections to the area.

“I hope Oldham Discovery Walks will be as, if not more, popular and I hope people will enjoy exploring the town’s wonderful countryside whilst learning about its people and rich past.”

Chris also leads regular guided walks, which are featured in his monthly column in the Saddleworth Independent, and delivers mountain navigation courses.
