Festive treats for all the family as WI’s Christmas Market returns

THERE are festive treats for all the family as Saddleworth Women’s Institute hold their popular Christmas Market on Sunday, December 2.

First, the Wi is holding its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, November 7, and this integral and mandatory event ensures the WI is fairly and correctly managed.

Then it’s to the fun and games on December 2 for the Markets at Saddleworth Rangers Rugby Club, Shaw Hall Bank Road, Greenfield, with doors open from 10.30am.

This will be a great day out for all the family, who can visit Santa in his grotto to receive a present, as well as pet and feed his reindeer.

Kickstart your Christmas shopping at the large variety of stalls and visit the food hall in the marquee to treat yourself to a hot chocolate or mulled wine or enjoy Mann’s Wharf Hog Roast while you listen to brass bands. Hot and cold drinks and food will be available all day.

There will also be a chance to win a bespoke hamper full of Tesco’s finest festive goodies.

All profits from the event will be donated to the WI’s chosen charity for 2018, Oldham Mountain Rescue Team, who will be in attendance on the day.

The Saddleworth WI’s monthly meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at the Royal George, Greenfield. New members and guests are always welcome. Guests can attend one ‘taster’ meeting before joining. Meetings start at 8.15pm, with registration from 7.30pm.
