A WAYWARD teen finding his purpose will tug at the heart strings as ‘Holy Cow’ comes to the big screen in Delph.
Saddleworth Film Society is showing the French comedy-drama (cert 15) on Monday, January 5 at The Millgate Arts Centre, starting at 7.30pm.
It is the story of 18-year-old Totone, who spends most of his time drinking beer and partying in the Jura region until reality catches up with him when he has to take care of his seven-year-old sister and find a way to make a living.
He sets out to make the best Comté cheese in the region in an attempt to win the gold medal at the agricultural competition and 30,000 euros.

Saddleworth Film Society presents ten art house films – one a month from September 2025 to June 2026 – at The Millgate Arts Centre.
It is a varied season of recent world films in many languages, styles and genres, all on a Monday evening starting at 7.30pm.
The showings offer a great evening out, with a half-time interval to allow for a social drink or ice cream in the bar.
