From Alaska with love: unique presents for The Old Bell

TWO special presents all the way from Alaska brought unique additions to the impressive gin collection at The Old Bell in Delph.

A bottle of ‘Aurora Borealis’ was gifted to the hostelry by gin-lover Angela Rosebeary, who is daughter of Saddleworth Parish Councillor Mavis Bingley.

Angela lives in Alaska with her husband Keith and brought the gin over with her during a visit to her mum in Grasscroft last May.

Aurora Borealis Gin is made by Anchorage Distillery in Alaska, and is named after the Northern Lights. It is bottled at 40% ABV.

Then when Angela returned to Saddleworth for two weeks this Christmas, she made another visit to The Old Bell with Mavis to drop off a bottle of 50 Fathoms Gin.

The award-winning gin is flavoured with a Southeast Alaska twist with hand-harvested local spruce tips, whole juniper berries, cinnamon, and coriander.

Tweeting a picture of Angela handing over the latest bottle, The Old Bell said: “All the way from Alaska, Angela and her family have brought us a lovely Christmas present! Thank you! We love our customers!”
