Kind-hearted fundraiser calls on community to help efforts to raise baby in friend’s memory

A KIND-HEARTED friend is fundraising to help care for a little boy in his mum’s memory – and is urging the community to get behind her bid.

Last June, Lisa Parkisson passed away just 48 hours after giving birth to Zac at the Royal Oldham Hospital.

Family and friends rallied around to help out the baby, who lives with Lisa’s sister.

Friend Karen Jones raised a fantastic £1,772 to help towards the costs of bringing up Zac last year and is now continuing her efforts with more events.

She explained: “Zac is such a lovely little boy. I am looking for raffle and auction prizes for an event on August 9 at BlueBell pub in Royton.

“I am doing a fun run to raise money too. All fundraising goes to the bringing up of Zac in Lisa’s memory.”
