A VINTAGE-INSPIRED Gift and Craft Fair will offer treats and stalls galore at Uppermill Civic Hall on Sunday, August 10.
Organised by Saddleworth Creative Network to compliment local annual festivities of ‘Yanks Weekend’, there will be a host of jewellery, clothing, gifts, crafts, furniture and food on sale.
And many stall holders will be getting into the spirit of the event, which is free to enter and runs from 11am-4pm, by dressing up in 1940s costume to recreate the atmosphere of wartime Britain.
Vintage style 1940-50s hair and makeup makeovers are available all day, as well as the chance to have your photo taken in a pop up professional portrait studio.
The event follows a successful Summer Gift & Craft Festival over two days in July when an array of more than 50 local traders set up stalls to get shoppers in a summer mood.
Products ranged from coffees and teas, jams, chutneys and pies to a mix of traditional and modern handmade stalls, including soaps and candles, leather goods, jewellery and mirrors.
Funds from the fair’s tombola and donations will go to the ‘Friends of Dobcross School’.
Their next event is an ‘Autumn Gift and Craft Festival’ on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7, September, featuring traditional and modern handmade products from local crafts people. It will be held at the Civic Hall in Uppermill from 10am-4pm.
