Mandy Gorey said the electronic Cloudstix devices, which help smokers gradually wean down their nicotine intake, have proved popular since she starting selling them last month.

The electronic cigarette, which can be used in public places, vaporises a nicotine-based liquid into a mist that is inhaled, giving the usual sensation, taste, and feel of smoking.

Liquids come in varying strengths to help smokers cut back and have a range of flavours, including apple, blueberry, mint and tobacco.

Mandy, who is using the device to kick her own addiction, said: “It’s really good – I’ve not had a cigarette for four-and-half weeks.

“If you want a cigarette you have to smoke the whole thing but you can just have a couple of puffs on this and it takes the craving away.

And Mandy is offering a free device, with a charger and liquid, to one lucky Saddleworth Independent reader.
