Green light sought for Greenfield development

PLANS to build 20 executive houses with 78 car parking spaces in Greenfield have been submitted on behalf of developers Wiggett Construction.

The four-bedroom properties will be built on 2.2 acres of land behind numbers 29-51 Shaw Hall Bank Road and the Huddersfield Narrow Canal.

The proposals would also see the construction of a new public road within the site.

The side is described as “open land with a pond, scrub vegetation and mature trees”.

Wiggetts are currently building the latest phase of their Heron’s Reach development in Greenfield, which is also adjacent to the Huddersfield Narrow Canal.

The last date for neighbourhood consultation expires on September 19, 2018.

The application was validated by Oldham Council on August 16, 2018 with a determination deadline given of November 15, 2018.

  1. I thought this was a flood plane area. But Wiggets will not care about that. So sad for anyone who might buy this property.

  2. Greenfield will eventually have no green or fields. It is becoming a massive housing estate. It is all down to greed…. the greed of afew very greedy individuals.

  3. Absolutely. When all the green land has gone where next? I know let’s build next to Wiggetts house – prime spot! Bet he would love lots of neighbours and cars next to his land !!!
