Gym Bunnies brings messy play sessions to Diggle following Royton success

A POPULAR children’s activity group has expanded into Saddleworth, giving babies and toddlers the chance to explore, learn and get messy through sensory play.

Gym Bunnies, which has already established sessions in Royton, has introduced its themed messy play activities to Diggle, offering families another opportunity to enjoy interactive experiences with their little ones.

The sessions are designed for children aged 0 to 15 months, combining sensory exploration with activities inspired by popular children’s books.

Held at Kilngreen Church on Church Grove, Lee Side, Diggle, the hour-long sessions take place on Tuesdays from 10am until 11am.

Each week features a different theme, with activities based around familiar stories including We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, The Colour Monster, The Tiger Who Came to Tea and Mad About Minibeasts.

Children are encouraged to explore different textures, colours and materials in a relaxed environment, with plenty of opportunities to get their hands messy.

As well as providing entertainment, sensory and messy play can support early development, helping babies build coordination, fine motor skills and confidence as they discover new experiences.

The sessions also provide an opportunity for parents and carers to meet other families and enjoy time together.

Organisers say all products used during the activities are taste-safe, although parents are asked to make them aware of any allergies before attending.

Families are encouraged to bring spare clothes, wipes and towels, as children are likely to get particularly messy during the activities.

Sessions cost £12.50 each, with a four-week term available for £45.

The Diggle programme includes sessions on October 6, 13 and 20, while the group’s Royton activities continue on Thursdays at Amy Mackie School of Dance and Drama on Cardigan Street.

Places must be booked in advance, with payment required to secure a space.

Families can contact Gym Bunnies through its Facebook page or Instagram account, @Gymbunnies_, for further information and bookings.
