FESTIVE GOODIES galore will be on sale as the Saddleworth Handmade Festival returns to the Civic Hall in Uppermill with two events over the coming months.
On Sunday, November 8, the ‘Winter Festival’ – organised by the Saddleworth Creative Network – will see around 55 local makers set up stalls in the hall from 11am-4pm to offer an array of handmade and unique products.
Items will range from chocolates, jams to jewellery and soaps, all lovingly created by local artisans for early Christmas shoppers.
Some stalls will also offer an interactive element with demos or a chance to have a go yourself, and there will be a tea-shop provided by ‘Something Yummy Cakes & Catering’.
To entertain children at the free event there will be face-painting, a tombola and lucky dip, along with balloons.
Proceeds from the tombola will be donated to Ruddi’s Retreat, a charity which helps families with seriously ill children to have access to a holiday home for free.
Then on Sunday, December 6 then ‘Christmas Festival’ will be held from 11am-4pm as local makers offer shoppers a last chance to buy some unique gifts and crafts.
And guest of honour Father Christmas will be there in his grotto, meeting the children and handing out a few early Christmas gifts.
The chosen charity for this event’s tombola is SMA Support UK, which supports those affected by Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
