FIVE years, hundreds of toys and thousands of pounds for charity gave Kids Car Boot plenty of reasons to celebrate.
The popular children’s buy, sell and swap initiative, which is run monthly by Steve Winfield and Kerri Roberts, marked its fifth birthday in November.
A delicious birthday cake was baked by Kerri especially for the occasion, and enjoyed by a host of children and parents who flocked to the event at Saddleworth School.
Kerri said: “We can’t quite believe we have been going for five years!
“We would like to say a big thank you to our fabulous stallholders for all the donations they leave for Barnardos and to all the customers who come along each month.
“We are looking forward to continuing to grow the events in the coming year and wish all our customers and stallholders the very best for the festive season.”
Kind-hearted stallholders gave 98 bags of toys and clothes to Barnardos at the birthday event, which will be distributed by the children’s charity to those in need.
And Kids Car Boot has also helped to raise £61,500 thanks to the generous donations of stall-holders and visitors over the years.
Visit Kids Car Boot on the first Sunday of each month at Saddleworth School. Their events run from 10am-12noon. Entrance £1 for adults, kids go free. Refreshments available. Free parking.
