HARD-WORKING volunteers took a night off as they were honoured at the annual Volunteer of Saddleworth Awards.
Outgoing Saddleworth Parish Council chairman, Councillor Pam Byrne, hosted the event last month at The Three Crowns at Austerlands to recognise dedicated volunteers and fundraisers who work so hard across the community.

Keith Begley, from Delph, whose wife Jenny was also an Awards recipient in 2015, was named Volunteer of the Year while Chris Nichols, from Dobcross, was crowned Young Volunteer.
The awards are open to anyone who lives in Saddleworth and receives no payment for their charitable work in the area.
There are two sections: one for a person, couple or group, and one for a young person up to the age of 16.
The sponsor of this year’s trophies was David Cassidy.
