A UNIQUE opportunity for wildlife-loving local businesses to help children get closer to nature has been launched.
The Happy Bird Company is looking for companies to sponsor a school of their choice for their ‘Eco Bird Biscuit’ environmental project to teach pupils more about wild garden birds.
The funds will help provide the school with participation posters, bird biscuit kits and education sheets so children can feed birds and learn to identify them.
Sponsor businesses will have their name printed on posters and leaflets distributed to the pupils and can even include vouchers and offers for their products or services.
Brad Jackson, who is delivering the project to schools across Saddleworth, said: “This project offers children the chance to learn how to feed garden birds in a new way while also developing new skills.
“At the same time it’s a great opportunity for companies to reach local households and prove themselves to be a community business by helping children learn how to care for the environment.”
