HAVE your say on the future of the much-loved Oldham Coliseum Theatre at a ‘brew and chat’ event.
Join the theatre’s team at Spindles Shopping Centre on Saturday, February 21 to put forward ideas about what comes next.
Three years ago, the Coliseum on Fairbottom Street was saved after an incredible public outcry showed just how much this theatre means to the borough.

The theatre closed its doors in March 2023 after losing its Arts Council funding but after a campaign spearheaded by celebrities, Oldham Council last year agreed to foot the bill for a £10m refurbishment to bring the building back into use.
The Coliseum was due to reopen for Panto Season 2025 but the return has been delayed until 2026 due to unexpected extra work on the building.
Now, as plans move forward to rebuild and reimagine the 135-year-old Coliseum, the team wants local people at the heart of its future.
Oldham Coliseum said: “Drop by into our pop-up living room space, grab a free tea or coffee, and tell the team what you’d like to see from your theatre in the future.
“How should the new Coliseum reflect Oldham’s identity, talent and stories?
“The Coliseum belongs to all of the wonderful communities that make up Oldham, this is your invite to tell us what you like!
“This is your theatre, your town, your future. Oldham born. World bound. Let’s build what comes next together.”
