I read it in the Grapevine!

A NEW publication has hit the streets of Saddleworth with a strong religious theme running throughout its 32 pages.

The Grapevine is a bi-monthly magazine published by the Church of England in Saddleworth.

It combines many of the features found in individual parish magazines but with added content.

There’s an extensive Saddleworth C of E Who’s Who, parish contacts, a Sunday service listing and news from St Thomas, Delph, Christ Church, Denshaw, Holy Trinity, Dobcross, Christ Church, Friezland, St Mary’s, Greenfield, St Anne’s Lydgate, St Chad’s Saddleworth – Parish Centre and Kilngreen.

Team Rector Sharon Jones said: “Each magazine will contain news from across the villages.

“It will also provide a sense of what is going on beyond Saddleworth itself.”

The inaugural edition contains information on a Churches Together in Saddleworth (CTiS) joint special service at Uppermill Civic Centre on Sunday, January 28.

Many local churches will be closed on that Sunday morning as a way of encouraging worshippers from different parishes across the area and other denominations to meet.

The next CTiS meeting will take place at the Parish Centre, Lea Street, Uppermill on Monday, February 5.
