Iconic James Shepherd Versatile Brass to hold Final Concert in Delph

THE FINAL concert featuring ‘The James Shepherd Versatile Brass’ is to be held on Wednesday, December 16 at the Millgate Arts Centre in Delph at 7.30pm.

Versatile Brass has bejsvb final concert posteren thrilling audiences the world over for over 40 years, and the final concert promises be a night to remember.

The ensemble was formed in 1972 by the legendary cornet soloist James Shepherd, who collected together some of the finest brass band players and formed an iconic organization in the brass band movement.

Without question Versatile Brass has been the catalyst for the growth and popularity of small ensembles within the UK and further afield.

In the 43 years of the group’s existence they have toured the world and while personnel has changed the standard has remained at the very pinnacle of brass playing within the UK.

Kevin Holdgate, who has played with the JSVB for over 35 years said: “I am sure the Final Concert will be a truly memorable, and most likely emotional night for all concerned.

“I am particularly pleased that several former members of JSVB will be attending including James Shepherd himself. This will make the night extra special.”

David Morris, the World Champion whistler from Dobcross, will perform and local celebrity Gilbert Symes will compere the evening.
