AN inquest will take place next year after the recent death of a man in Greenfield.
Police attended an unspecified incident at a house on Lower Frenches Drive off Chew Valley Road in early November.
An inquest on John Parsons, 54, was opened at Rochdale Coroner’s Court in Heywood on Thursday, November 23.
A full hearing will take place on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 10am.
Meanwhile, a man has been charged with the murder of his wife, Elizabeth Merriman, in Newhey on Sunday, October 22.
An inquest has also been opened on Mrs Merriman, 39, who was found dead at her home with stab wounds.
Darren Merriman, 40, appeared at Manchester Crown Court last month.
The inquest opened at Rochdale Coroner’s Court, Heywood on Wednesday, November 22.
Further enquiries are taking place and a pre trial and plea hearing will take place on February 19, 2018. A trial date has been set for April 16, 2018, with Merriman remanded in custody.
An event to celebrate the life of Elizabeth and raise funds for her three young children took place at the Ko-Ko Lounge, on Packer Street, Rochdale, on Sunday, December 3.
