HUNGRY LOCALS just can’t get enough of a top fish and chip shop in Diggle.
For after repeated requests from the public, Diggle Chippy on Huddersfield Road has now thrown open its doors to serve breakfast five days a week.
Customers can kick-start their day with a mouth-watering breakfast muffin filled with their choice of bacon, eggs, sausage or spam, accompanied by a drink.
Stephen, who has run the Chippy with his wife Rachel for eight years, explained: “We decided to start offering breakfasts because of public demand.
“We’ve been asked by drivers, builders and locals for a while if we’d start doing it – so we did!”
Rachel added: “We’re in here anyway getting ready for lunch so we thought we might as well open up.”
Since the couple, who live in Greenfield with their two sons, began their new offerings in May, it has gone down a treat.
Rachel said: “The breakfasts have gone down really well and we’ve been really busy. We’re really pleased so far.”
The popular traditional English chippy also opens for lunch and tea, offering a delicious range including fresh fish delivered daily and cooked to order, chips, mushy peas, sausages and spam fritters.
And don’t miss out on their tasty rag puddings and famous steak and kidney or cheese and onion pies. There is also a children’s menu available.
