ITV invites football fans to enjoy World Cup at new Fever Pitch park

THE WORLD Cup is days away and ITV is to open a Brazilian-themed ‘fan park’ in Manchester to celebrate the tournament and give fans and families the opportunity to immerse themselves in the emotional rollercoaster of the biggest football event in the world.

The ITV Fever Pitch fan park will be situated at the old Granada Studios site and will broadcast key games throughout the tournament to up to 3,500 lucky fans on a giant screen. It will be open between June 12 and July 13.

As well as screening the live games Fever Pitch will feature a Brazilian-style beach football stadium. The fan park will showcase international beach soccer matches between the world’s top teams as a warm up to the real World Cup action.

In addition to this ‘Join In,’ the Olympic and Paralympic legacy charity, will be bringing local community groups, schools and clubs together to try the sport and play on the sand.

For this project that’s inspired by Brazil and delivered by Manchester, enthusiastic volunteers are needed, those with a passion for using international sport to inspire local communities.

‘Join In’ is in search of a 250-strong team of friendly and upbeat volunteers, to work with local clubs and welcome visitors to the Samba-themed stadium throughout the duration of the World Cup, helping to create the carnival feel and bring Manchester’s festival of football to life.
