THERE were no hangovers from Saddleworth’s second Gin Festival – at least not among the organisers.
With visitor numbers up from the debut Festival in 2017 and plenty of positive vibes they couldn’t have been happier with how the three-day event turned out.
And after its success there’s every chance they’ll be pouring gin and tonics by the hundreds at Uppermill Civic Hall for a third time in 2018.
“If they will have us back,” chuckled Shelagh Bourke, a Dobcross business woman and co-founder of the Gin Society.
“Seriously, we were well looked after and everyone was very accommodating.
“It was very busy, with lots of people coming back to see us for a second time.
“Numbers were definitely up on last year. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and we received lots of good feedback.
“Hopefully, we will be back next year and we can make it a regular date.”
The Gin Society are staging similar festivals in 2018 from London to Lincoln, Canterbury to Carlisle.
And if you can’t wait until 2019 then there’s another Festival locally at Manchester Cathedral on April 19-21.
