TUCK INTO a piece of birthday cake and bag yourself a bargain as a children’s car boot and swap shop celebrates its first anniversary with a party at its November event.

Balloons and cake will be available for all to enjoy at the Kids Car Boot monthly sale on Sunday, November 3 at Saddleworth School from 10am until 12midday.
And one lucky stallholder who is picked out of a ‘free table’ raffle will get their pitch fee back to crown their celebrations.
The events were started 12 months ago by Kerri Roberts and business partner Steve Winfield as they help founder Shane Crawford expand the scheme out of Manchester.
At the family sales, both parents and children can get involved selling kids-only products to clear out their unwanted items and make space – and cash – for new ones.
There are also ‘swap shops’ where youngsters can exchange their unwanted toys with each other to become the proud owner of something different.
Stall proceeds and any leftover items are donated to Barnardo’s, a move which has so far raised more than £36,000 for the children’s charity.
Kerri said: “Steve and I are so pleased to have reached our first anniversary with the events going from strength to strength and look forward to the year ahead.
“We are grateful for the support of the local community which has helped our events flourish and provided amazing support to Barnardos via their donations.”
Kids Car Boot and Swap Shop events are held on the first Sunday of every month at Saddleworth School in Uppermill from 10am until 12midday. Their next events will be on November 3 and December 1. Entry is 50p for adults, free for kids, with refreshments available and free parking.
There is a £10 pitch fee and for all booking enquiries please ring 07748 601 248. For more information visit: www.kidscarbootandswapshop.co.uk
