A STAGGERING £1,700 was raised by kind-hearted Saddleworth School pupils on Red Nose Day last month.
Students and staff all contributed £1 each to swap their uniform for their own clothes for the day.
And a group of dedicated Year 9 girls raised around £300 by selling 200 funky red noses and hosting a Cake Sale.
The delicious spread included cupcakes, brownies, chocolate strawberries, biscuits and chocolates, which were snapped up by pupils at the break time sale.
Pupil Roshni Parmar explained: “We were asked to sell the noses but decided to do the cake sale ourselves. We really enjoyed it.”
The amount raised is double last year’s total and a record for the school, and the money will go to Comic Relief charities.
