Kind Saddleworth businesses make generous donations to Nepal earthquake appeal

FOUR KIND-HEARTED Uppermill businesses raised £1,000 to support UNICEF’s appeal for victims of the Nepalese earthquake.

Julian Garratt, 33, who owns The Wine Vault on the High Street made a 10p donation from the sale of beers, wines and spirits over a week in May to kick-start the initiative.

He said: “My father Phil and I have had wonderful times in Nepal trekking with friends.

“We have always been treated with the utmost respect and the greatest welcome by the locals.

“What we raise will be sent towards the humongous effort needed to start to help them rebuild their lives.

He was given enthusiastic support to the initiative with generous contributions from Team Spirit, Java Coffee and Muse Bar.
