A SADDLEWORTH band is launching themselves into a musical journey after releasing their first video for their new single ‘Jack’.
The Rivertairs – made up of Mark ‘Rev’ Revill, Thomas ‘Tom’ Rothery, Daniel ‘Sheep’ Smith and Daniel ‘Danny’ Whitelegg – began their musical odyssey at Warth Mill, where passion and persistence weaved together an exciting prospect.
They have a unique sound with influences from all over the map, including The Kinks, Small Faces, The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger and Temples.
All this has come together in their writing sessions to produce their first three-track demo, 2013’s ‘Fool’s Parade’ and now their new single, which is available as a free download from the band’s website.
Describing their new single, Rivertairs say ‘Jack’ is “a suspenseful sonance plucking the strings of imagination which we hope our fans feel is reflected in the video”.
Filmed in Lock-91 in Deansgate Locks, Manchester, the video includes the notorious Jack the Ripper (played by Tony Bolton), with actors period dress sourced from Manchester’s Royal Exchange costume hire.
You can view the video now on the band’s website or watch it below.
