SADDLEWORTH RUNNERS and Greenfield Greyhounds had entrants among the field of 268 in the Milltown to Moors 7k race that started from Alexandra Park.
The leading local finisher was Runners’ Dean Moynihan in 64th place as he clocked 32min 04sec.
Other Runners in action were Carl Chambers (81st, 33.34), John Heathcote (119th, 36.18), Tony Greene (174th, 41.50), Anouska Kent (175th, 41.47).
Greyhounds’ two competitors were Jordanna and Graham Rawlinson who were 222nd and 223rd, both in 47.01.
The winner was Royton Road Runners’ Rob James in 24.48, three seconds clear of Oldham and Royton Harriers’ Michael Mannings. Third was Sale Harriers’ John Lloyd in 25.43.
The first woman home was Royton Road Runners’ Jen Bloor in 29.03 which was 32nd overall.
Second female was Sophie Wood (39th, 29.42) and third was Rochdale Harriers’ Jessica Bull (47th, 30.23).
The next race in the Milltown to Moors series is the 10k on Sunday, June 18 (9.30am). It begins at Oldham Leisure Centre and the route includes Shaw and Royton.
