Lucky escape for motorist in Greenfield crash

A MALE motorist had a lucky escape after a car overturned on the busy Greenfield to Holmfirth road on the afternoon of Monday, October 3.

Five police cars, two fire engines and an ambulance attended the accident scene, close to the Binn Green car park at Dovestone Reservoir.

The red Saab was found upended on its roof on the Holmfirth bound side of the A635. No other vehicle is believed to have been involved.

Police were seen questioning a man, thought to be the driver, a few hundred yards from the scene.

A GMP spokesman later confirmed the man, who escaped with minor injuries, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
