Mahdlo is about to embark on building a state of the art extension

Funded by The Stoller Charitable Trust, the new facilities will offer the opportunity for open mic music events, comedy and then drama and dance events for the young people of Oldham to be involved in.
The new space will enhance work with other partners such as OIdham Coliseum Theatre to ensure the Youth Zone, based on Egerton Street, supports the town’s creative and artistic life.
Mike Doran, CEO at Mahdlo, said: “We are all very excited about this new project and would like to thank The Stoller Charitable Trust for their generosity and continued support of Mahdlo.”
Steve Beal, Arts Coordinator at Mahdlo, added: “Young people are the future and having this opportunity to continue to improve our offer is fantastic.
“I’m looking forward to working with our partner organisations, such as the Coliseum, to develop an offer that inspires young people and creates experiences and opportunities that stay with them for years to come.”
The new area will be available for hire during the day by local businesses, schools, community groups and other organisations

“We have laid the foundations for some fantastic work between young people, Mahdlo and their partners and for the building to be used by all the community in Oldham.”
Opened in 2012, Mahdlo, is a registered charity and state-of-the-art Youth Zone providing activities and practical support for young people aged 8 – 19 (25 with disabilities).
Yearly membership is just £5 and entrance to each session is just 50p.
